The Good Friday and Easter have just passed away a few weeks ago. We all know the story where Jesus took up the cross and risen on the third day. We are all saved from our sin due to this act of love, but now, what should we do?
1. Remember that the cross is our greatest gift
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
“And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.” – 1 Corinthians 5:17
Always keep in mind that the cross has changed our status, from the sinful human to the children of God. Always remember that Jesus had died for us and for our sin, and be thankful to God regarding this matter. The cross where He sealed His love for us with His blood, shows the extent of love God has towards us as sinners.
2. Sin no more
“Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.” – 1 John 3:9
As a way of saying thanks to God that He had redeemed us as His children, practice no more sin! God did not cleanse us of our sin at the cross so we can make more sin, and neither that we should think of sinning because we will be cleansed again on the upcoming Easter. The blood of God is precious and only by His blood that we can be cleansed of our sin. So, don’t waste it!
3. Be in fellowship and share God’s message
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20
Just like what the apostles did after Jesus rises to Heaven, we should come together, read the message that God gave us, be in fellowship with one another, and start expanding the Kingdom of God in the earth. Be the person that shares God’s message to the unbelievers, as well as act appropriately as children of God so that other people will believe Him by looking on your behaviour in life.
