The exam block has arrived and without a doubt is one of the most stressful times of the semester for any student. Don’t let the stress get to you! Here are five ways to make sure you are ready emotionally, physically and spiritually to take those exams.
1.Begin with God
It looks easy to study on your own, have your own timetable and plan the whole routine by yourself. However, bringing God the Holy Spirit in Changes Everything! Don’t be distracted with other things – your friend might say that questions are going to be there only from the certain chapters, but remember that you have to focus on the Lord. When you always have God in front of you, nothing is going to shake you. You will get the job done easily.
Psalm 16:8 – I keep my eyes always on the Lord with Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
2. Don’t be panic
After we started with God, this is the hardest part – don’t be panic and start to BELIEVE the Word of God. None of the exams is easy, but as a Christian we have Jesus that will catch you when you are on hard situation. The closer you walk with God the less room for anything (including worries) to come in between.
Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
3.Pray and ask for His wisdom
Bible mentioned repeatedly asking you to ask God for wisdom. We all lack of wisdom, we need to ask Him for wisdom and it is God who makes one wise.
James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
4.Do your part
Prayer is super important and we should engage in it every day, BUT we cannot sit back do absolutely nothing and still expect to receive good grades (if only life was that easy!). We have to spend time to study and review all the exam materials ourselves as well.
Romans 12:11-12 – Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
5. Look for His instruction and guidance
As you walk into the exam room keep your mind calm by keep trusting God, God says I will instruct you and teach you. Keep listening for His instruction and you will see He gives ideas and directs your mind to present the correct answer.
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.
These might be things you already know, but I dare you to really take them in pray and work them in your life. Once you do these steps, you will be able to see the difference on the end result of your exams. See you on the next exam and God bless you!
