The young adults gathered once again last Friday at combined GYM (Godly Youth Movement) in 85 Bleasby Road, being blessed by our beloved pastor, Hanny Yasaputra. Let’s take a moment to read about God’s message!

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

Purpose is the key of life, it is what makes the life meaningful! From the scripture above, it is clearly seen that God has set us a purpose even before we were born. Without purpose, we will not be satisfied. For instance, making a life is not the same as making a living. We can work as hard and earn as much money as we can, but without purpose it is highly unlikely we can feel the satisfaction.

Purpose is the master of motivation and the mother of commitment. Everything you do will be half-hearted without purpose. It is impossible to commit without a clear purpose. Of course, to understand your purpose, we need to seek God. Without purpose, life is just an experiment filled with frustration, failure, and disappointment.

The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out

Proverbs 20:5 (NIV)

The purpose in a man’s heart here can also refer to God’s purpose which we need to draw it out! Plans can change, but purpose is constant. It means we are designed for our purpose, and so it is part of our identity and reveals our nature and responsibilities.

4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

Romans 12:4-5 (NIV)

Below is the take away point in regards to principles and benefits of purpose.

Principles of purpose:

  1. God is a God of purpose
  2. Everything in life has a purpose
  3. Not every purpose is known
  4. Whatever purpose is not known abuse is inevitable
  5. If we want to know the purpose of something it is in the mind of the Creator
  6. Purpose is key to fulfilment

Benefits of purpose:

  1. Confidence
  2. Protection – when we haven’t fulfilled our purpose, God will protect you
  3. Perseverance
  4. Objectivity
  5. Contentment
  6. Joy
  7. Intercession of the Holy Spirit

Being here in Brisbane is not a coincidence, so find God’s purpose in you!
