Prayer can sometimes be very difficult, yet it is the easiest thing to do. We can pray anywhere and anytime, including mumbling before we eat in the public or having a quality time with God when we wake up in the morning or before we go to bed. But often we get busy, lazy, or distracted and we forget to pray. Pray is the most wonderful privilege for every Christians. It is the most important habit that all Christian must have. So, if you have difficulties to pray, here are some tips to improve your prayer life.
- Pray Regularly
To begin with it is better to focus on quantity than quality. Sometimes we refuse to pray because we don’t have a quality time with God. In the end, we did not pray and we choose to do other things. Therefore, it is very important to pray consistently although our prayer may just be a few sentences. The more often we pray, the more desire we have in praying.
In order to pray regularly, here are the three must things to do:
- Make prayer our prime goal every day
- Make an appointment with God is more important than anything else
- Reject every interruption that’s in your human power to reject.
- Pray Honestly
God desires an honest prayer. We do not have to use fancy or churchcified words in order to pray. God knows everything yet He still wants us to tell Him what we feel. The best prayer is the prayer with a faith like a child, believe that God listens and will answer our prayers according to His will.
As Charles Spurgeon said, “Prayer is not to be measured by the yard, nor weighed by the pound. It is the might and force of it—the truth and reality of it—the energy and the intensity of it.”
- Pray Constantly
Pray either when you feel like it or not like it. Pray constantly! Remember that we can have a date with God anytime. Do not let your laziness interrupts your desire to pray. Every day and every moment of our life we are walking with Him and talking with Him, so intimately that it’s just as if we never stop talking to God.
