Misplaced Strength

Have you ever felt like a slave to your job and do not have any time to make a connection with our Father? Are you too busy to enjoy God? If it so, you are definitely have misplaced your strength. In our Christianity lives, sometimes we do not realize that devil is tirelessly working to get us focus on things that are not everlasting, in other words, to misplace our strength.

Here are some common examples of devil’s pitfall that we usually face to misplace our strengths:

  1. Money

First of all is money.  Money itself is not a major distraction in our walk with God, but the craving for wealth and material possessions will slowly but surely lead us away from God. So, it does mean that we can still do our job and earn money, but we just need to realise that God is more important, and far more capable of taking care of us than we are.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”  (1 Timothy 6:10)

  1. Busyness

Busyness is another major block to have a personal relationship with God. When we are busy, it is impossible to have quality relationship with God and devil will take that chance to misplace our strength in busyness. Whereas, Mark 12:28-30 says that above all things, the Lord our God is the most important thing, we have to prioritise Him and love Him with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths.

  1. Technologies/ Media

Technologies including social media consume most of our days. Technology is a small yet important thing that could bring a big impact to our relationship with God. At the time when we are too busy with all the technologies, it will allow us to pursue our own strength and make us away from our God. We have to be wise in using the technology and try to spend more time to seek the Kingdom of God.

Henceforward, we have to leave all those eternally unimportant things and give our strength to God as He will always give us His strength.

“ I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
